Barack Obama, the President of the USA, has appointed Luis E. Arreaga as the country’s new ambassador to Iceland. The United States of America has been without an ambassador at its Reykjavik embassy for around a year.
Arreaga is a doctor of economics and has varied diplomatic experience, including at the American embassies in Panama, Canada and Spain. He has served at US ambassador to the United Nations in Geneva and has also worked in Peru, El Salvador and Honduras.
Carol Van Voorst left her post as ambassador last year. Obama named Robert S. Connan as her successor last May; but he pulled out at relatively short notice, leaving the embassy without a head for nearly a year, Visir.is reports.

Sounds as a profeesional amabasador to build friendship between big nation USA and small but lovely Iceland
Diplomatic and positive.
The ash cloud reminded Obama adminsitration that we exist.
