German and Icelandic leaders chat in Copenhagen

johanna-og-angelaJohanna Sigurdardottir, Prime Minister of Iceland and Angela Merkel, the German Chancellor, met yesterday evening at the UN summit on climate change currently being held in Copenhagen.

According to the Office of the Prime Minister, the pair spoke about Iceland’s EU application, economic affairs in the two countries and what opportunities exist for a formal meeting next year.

Visir.is reported earlier that Merkel told the German parliament before leaving that EU membership negotiations will happen next year for both Iceland and Macedonia.

    EU application they needn’t have bothered as Johanna won’t be in a job when the public realise they are getting taxed out of existence from next month(10% increase for all mid salary workers.)
