Liverpool football boss Rafael Benitez says he does not want to loan Gudlaugur Palsson out to other teams, preferring to keep him available on Merseyside.
The 18 year-old Gudlaugur Victor Palsson is said to be a part of Liverpool’s ‘bigger picture’ and is not to be loaned to other teams. Palsson has been playing with Liverpool’s youth and second teams since January 2009.
Palsson, who is one of Iceland’s rising football stars, said in a recent interview with local paper Morgunbladid: “I have been surprised how quickly I made it into the second team. I have also been moved from my normal centre midfielder position back to centre back even though I have never played that position before”.
The Best known Icelandic player today is Eidur Gudjonsen who plays with Monaco after time at Barcelona and Chelsea. Other Icelandic players to have made an impression outside Iceland are Runar Kristinsson, Arnor Gudjonsen (Eidur’s dad), Hermann Hreidarsson, Gudni Bergsson and Asgeir Sigurvinsson.

Hopefully he can help Liverpool improve! The team’s recent run of luck is pretty poor..
How can he be termed a star?
He hasn’t achieved anything in the game yet.
Exactly, everyones a star before they have acheived anything these days, absolute joke.
