Woman charged for stabbing child

justice.thumbnailIceland’s State Prosecutor has charged a woman for stabbing a five year-old girl in the chest with a knife.

Selma Gudnadottir admitted to stabbing the young girl shortly after the event on 27th September. The attack took place at the child’s home in Reykjanes, southwest Iceland.

Gudnadottir was today charged with attempted murder and faces a prison sentence if found guilty; a likely outcome as she has already confessed to police.

In the meantime, Visir.is reports, appropriate security measures are being put in place. Unconfirmed assumption suggests the security measures could be to protect her from other inmates in prison.

If the woman confessed to killing the girl, why does IceNews think she will be found guilty of murder and not manslaughter due to diminished responsibility?

They should put in practice old Viking laws and trow her to the sea in a locked sack or just smash her head with a big stone. What could a child do to defend itself from that monster?
