“I’ve known about this for a little while. These are naturally sad times for us lemon men,” says Henry Birgir Gunnarsson, sports journalist with Frettabladid and one of Iceland’s premier Fanta Lemon drinkers. Fanta Lemon is due to be removed from sale shortly, despite remaining popular.
When the drink was reborn in Iceland, Gunnarsson got a whole car boot full of the stuff which he has now finished with. “I actually gave most of it away to friends and relatives. To spread the gospel of what an immensely good drink this is,” the man now mourning the impending loss of Fanta Lemon told DV. But he is not totally lemonless, as he has already stocked up with enough to last him the winter.

Don’t worry, Icelanders. After news of your plight reaches the outside world, tourists will bring McDonald’s meals and cans of Fanta Lemon. And the UN will hopefully arrange air-drops to the worst-affected areas before Christmas.
Coca-Cola company should be next in line to vanish from Iceland after McDonald’s, those bloody Capitalist pigs.
My-my, seems as though you forgot to take your meds again An Cat Dubh. By the way, capitalist doesn’t require capitalization.
ja, ja.

I see that we have a troll in here.
So this means that the lemon flavored fanta is gone forever or all of the Fanta flavors? What if this happens in the united states? Wait do we even have Lemon Fanta? what’s next shall they remove Wal-Mart?!?!? SO CONFUSING…
Well according to this wiki site: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/International_availability_of_Fanta
Fanta Lemon is removed from sale in Iceland every winter and re-appears in the summer.
I wonder if the DV article just assumed we knew that already?
America is the land of the free and, for as long as the Constitution remains respected, its citizens will always have Fanta Lemon. And I’m grateful that, in the UK, Queen Elisabeth II allows her subjects like me to drink Fanta Lemon. Queen Johanna should learn from the US and UK – and give the people what they want. You can take people’s freedom, but you should never take their Fanta Lemon.
Whether it has gone for good or not this time, it does make you wonder why it was in the past withdrawn from sale over winter.
Presumably everyone drinks hot or alcoholic drinks, and lacking addictive ingredients Fanta Lemon just doesn’t have the staying power of, say, Coke in that shrunken market.
