The president of the Icelandic Football Association (KSI), Geir Thorsteinsson says that all evidence indicates that the Association’s finance secretary was a victim of organised criminals when he visited a strip club in Zurich.
Thorsteinsson said on RUV television last night that he and Palmi Jonsson had been in Switzerland for a FIFA meeting when Jonsson visited an erotic club in the red light district and large sums of money were charged to his business credit card.
After eating dinner together their paths had parted as he did not feel like partying late, Thorsteinsson said. But he added that despite not being present, he believes Jonsson was the victim of organised crime.
The president of the association said the board of KSI will investigate the issue at the first possible opportunity.

Does the credit card receipt indicate whether he was overcharged for champagne, strip dancing, or table companionship?
Sounds like a load of balls to me.

Didn’t realise it was that sort of club.
entrance to the erotic club : 20 CHF
tip for the doorman: 5 CHF
bottle of champaign: 80 CHF
private lapdance: 150 CHF
using the credit card of your employer: PRICELESS
LOL!!
He is lucky that probably the BJ was paid in cash and the gang bang as well!!
LOL!!!
backpedaling par usual. political par usual. above the law and the rules until someone digs something up and then its pass the buck time. same as its always been.
How is it possible to charge so much to a credit card when visiting a strip club? I thought it was still necessary to take decent ammount of hard cash to frequent those places. That must be one talented stripper as her ass-crack can appearently read the magnetic strip of credit cards.
Palmi is hardly a victim, 9000 Fr were spent from the card before he came to Moulin Rouge, more than 30.000 Fr were spent between 4:30 and 6:40 when he was escorted by 3 Russian women, Eva, Lora and Carmen between various night clubs and buying loads of Champagne for them,
67.000 Fr were charged to the KSI card that night.

Axel, thx for the links.
The swiss article is actually quite bizarre.
This icelander spent some 67000 chf.
58000 of which in this Moulin Rouge nicht club.
He ordered bottles of champaign at around 800 chf per bottle.
Now this is already an outrageous sum but imagine, how many bottles he must have ordered…
I would also like to add that 9000 CHF is already a considerable sum of money for a ‘business trip’, especially keeping in mind that the icelandic FA is mostly funded with public money.
According to xe.com 9000 chf equals 1.111.555,75 kronur.
The swiss court turned down the complaint by the icelandic functionary stating that ‘a big champaign party in Zurich will lead to a huge bill.’
I think Palmi , to put it mildly, behaved in a very naive manner and is not suitable for his job.
In a period of hardship for the average icelander functionaries like him should not be leading ‘the high life’ .
It is behavior symptomatic of Bipolar depression.
The IceNews article leads us to believe this is a recent event.
Is this not an event which happened in 2005 and the reason it is in the news now is because of a recent (failed) court case taken against the night club?
Is the Football Association of Iceland a private company, a public company, a governmental organisation, or what? Just wondering who normally foots the bill for Palmi’s liaisons with the fairer sex.

Indeed it seems that the spending craze took place some time ago.
Alex, I normally do not complain about standards of articels on this site but I think it should have been made more clearly that this took place well before the start of the kreppa.
Off course I still stand by my opinion that Palmi behaved like a foolish kid in a candy store :-)
