After some confusion over the weekend, Icelandic authorities have now confirmed that only one man in the country has swine flu.
Five other members of the man’s family displayed flu-like symptoms, as reported over the weekend, but were found to not be suffering from H1N1.
Chief epidemiologist Haraldur Briem said that Iceland will not be putting any large-scale measures in place to tackle the illness because it has so far proved to be a relatively mild strain, with no deaths yet reported in Europe.
Briem said that possible new cases will be treated very seriously, but that he does not intend to open a quarantine centre or declare any sort of emergency.
The man suffering from H1N1 travelled to Iceland from New York and started showing symptoms after getting to the country.

Perhaps it is the swine flu that will save Icelands economy, as the cod may have some enzyms that may kill/have an effect on the virus.

Do I remember that some said that fish is not high tech? Perhaps it is time to really support the ISK ;-).
