Police who seized over 100 kg of illegal drugs from a sailing boat off the east coast of Iceland at the beginning of this week say the haul was the biggest in Icelandic criminal history.
The boat has now been towed back to land and the three men who were onboard were arrested.
The two Icelanders and a Dutch citizen will be kept in custody until the 12 May, according to a court decision reached yesterday.
According to Visir.is, the men were taken in a private plane to Selfoss in South Iceland where they were transferred to the nearby Litla Hraun prison.
Six men have been arrested in connection with the ongoing case. The drugs are believed to be amphetamines.
