Aldis Westergren was found dead in Langavatn Lake near the Grafarholt neighbourhood of Reykjavik on Saturday afternoon.
Aldis had been missing since 24th February and searches have been ongoing in the area ever since – although more recently only ‘weather-permitting’.
The body of the missing woman was spotted by a Search & Rescue helicopter, according to Frettabladid.
The police are thanking all those who volunteered for the search. Details have not yet been released on why or how she died.
