A recent MMR poll asked Icelanders who they would rather have as the chairman of the Social Democrats, Ingibjorg Solrun Gisladottir (the current chairman), or Jon Baldvin Hannibalsson.
35.1 percent of respondents would like Ingibjorg Solrun Gisladottir to continue in her job, and 19 percent preferred Jon Baldvin Hannibalsson. However, a massive 46 percent of respondents did not want either of them to be head of the party, mbl.is reports.
So far no other party members have nominated themselves for the post which will be voted on at the annual party conference on 27-29 March.

Would be interesting to see if they are capable of listening to people.
For the record – I doubt they are.
TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN;
Since leaving Iceland in July 1964 and living in America to this day I will not presume to tell all the Icelandic people how they should or shouldn’t live there lives.
I can only say that the Americans don’t have it all right but they work at it and keep trying to get it right so all the “people” can live a reasonably happy and fulfilling life; of course there are ups and downs but generally speaking they are a lovely bunch and they aren’t trying to take over the world like some would like you to believe.
I happen to be married to an American going on 42 years and we hope to come to visit Iceland some day.
