would a government of the two parties be able to stick together, especially regarding the different approaches of both towards the recent mass protests?
“would a government of the two parties be able to stick together, especially regarding the different approaches of both towards the recent mass protests?”
——————————————————–
The social democrats were part of the coalition gov, that would explain some of their position re the protests. Who knows how long they can stick it out together with the Left. The junior party will always look to the status of their self preservation.
One obvious theory is
with news filtering out about general elections looking likely to be called in May the Social Democrats would have to disassociate themselves from the Coalition Gov and the larger Conservative Party or else be annihilated in the election.
Also the current SD leader (deputy PM) would have to stand down (even if she was in full health) in order for the SD to create the impression of cutting ties with previous policy.
The favourite for the PM position Johanna is an interesting character and this would be an enormous challenge for her. She has many recognised qualities of competence.
