UPDATE: The Manchester schoolchildren, along with other passengers from the aeroplanes from London and Dublin, were supplied with blankets and pillows and overnighted at Akureyri Airport. They will be flown to Reykjavik this morning, where the planned part of their Iceland adventure can commence.
Two jets from Copenhagen had to land at Egilsstadir in the eastern part of Iceland where similar provisions were made. The children were interviewed by TV RUV for tonight’s news at 19:00 GMT

We may have been provided with a thin blanket and pillow but we were not provided with any food or drink at all. Neither was any apology made by Icelandair for their diabolical treatment of the passengers. There were elderly passengers in wheelchairs left to fend for themselves. All in all the Icelandair acted appallingly with complete disregard for their passengers wellbeing. When we finally arrived at our destination, exhausted and hungry after a sleepless night we loved Iceland and the wonderful people but fly with Icelandair again? No way.
