Young boy was killed in a bombing in Gothenburg

Explosion in an apartment building in Biskopsgården, a suburb of Gothenburg, tragically calmed the life of an eight-year-old boy last night. The police bomb squad is currently investigating according to a RUV report.The police received a report just over 3am last night local time, about a young boy seriously injured in an explosion. He was rushed with ambulance to a nearby hospital in Östra where he died of his wounds.

The apartment where the bomb went of is on the third floor of the building, its completely in debris and the damage stretches to the hallway and staircase of the building. Two or three individuals are thought to have been in the apartment at the time of the explosion according to SVT (Swedish National Broadcasting services), and some of them might be of young age or even children.

Police have fenced of the area around the building, according to SVT the bombing is being investigated as murder or manslaughter. Bomb experts are on the scene, making sure, among other things, that there is no other possibility of a bomb going of on the premises. It is yet unknown what caused the bombing. The police has speculated, as the apartment belongs to one of the perpetrators involved in the bombing in a restaurant in Hisingen, a borough in Gothenburg, that the bombing is a gang related revenge bombing.
