German adventurer Matze Brustmann from Munich is probably the first person to descend into the Goðafoss waterfall in winter. Vilhjálmur Grímsson followed Brustmann and his team of filmmakers and cameramen and captured the endeavor on camera.
“He dropped twice in the same day down the waterfall on a kayak, he´s an experienced kayaker”said Grímsson. Many people have ventured down the waterfall in a kayak in summer but never in winter when the waterfall is half frozen solid. Matze Brustmann is a professional extreme sport athlete, a kayaker and skier but also singer songwriter of mellow music, a solo artists as well as guitarist and vocalist with German band Balloon Pilot.
