International job search portal for Norwegian oil sector goes online

Due to the creation of close to 9000 jobs in the Norwegian oil industry in 2012, a job search portal for those seeking employment in the oil sector in Norway was recently launched. The website was created by Teknisk Ukeblad, a company which specialises in recruitment in Norway.

The aim of the job portal, titled TUjobs, is to establish the shortest link between qualified workers in the petroleum sector and potential employers in Norway. The website’s user-friendly interface and fast application process allows for workers from around the world to find job vacancies that will meet their requirements, while Norwegian employers can easily publish vacancies and choose from a wide range of international candidates.

“There is a huge demand for skilled labour in the oil sector in Norway, especially for petroleum engineers, and it has become a challenge for Norwegian oil companies to get a hold of such workers,” explained Gustav Svane, counsellor for the Norwegian Labour and Welfare Service in Rogaland – the region at the centre of the Norwegian petroleum industry.

Svane continued, “Companies that are recruiting are therefore increasingly bringing labour from abroad to fill vacant jobs in the oil sector.”

Candidates seeking to relocate to Norway can easily register and fill out their profile which will then be available for employers to see. Companies on the other hand can compare profiles and choose the most suitable candidates for their vacancies. Additionally, they can also publish job vacancies on the website and instantly get access to TUjobs’ international oil sector database.
