Breivik planned Obama ceremony bombing

Confessed Norwegian gunman Anders Breivik was planning to bomb the Obama Nobel Peace Prize ceremony in 2009, according to reports.

Media said last week that the far-right extremist, who went on a shooting rampage at a children’s summer camp last year after bombing central Oslo, told police investigators that he had previously planned to detonate a car bomb when US President Barack Obama visited the Norwegian capital to collect the 2009 Nobel Peace Prize.

Breivik reportedly said in a statement that the planned attack would have been a largely symbolic act because security personnel would not have allowed him to get close enough to cause sufficient damage.

The news comes just ahead of the start Breivik’s trial. On 22 July last year, the Norwegian killed 77 people in dual terror attacks, which said were a “necessary” step to prevent the Islamic takeover of the West.

The trial, which is slated to commence next week, will see prosecutors recommend that Breivik be committed forcibly to a mental institution after he was determined to be insane in an official psychiatric evaluation.
