Father-in-law disowns Sweden suicide bomber

Ali Thwani, father-in-law of the Stockholm bomber, has disowned his son-in-law and insisted his plans were not known to the family.

In a statement to a number of international media outlets, including the Swedish tabloid newpaper Expressen, Ali Thwani wrote, ‘We did not know and were not aware of his criminal plans. We feel no sorrow. We are not sad about his death. Quite the opposite’.

Ali Thwani has publicly distanced himself and his entire family from his son-in-law, Taimur Abdulwahab, saying he was totally responsible for his own actions, none of which involved any member of his family.

The statement continued, ‘My daughter Mona did not know her husband was a criminal, or about his hidden intentions. I count his departure as the door to freedom for my daughter. Now she can be free from the brainwashing of terrorism’.

Taimur Abdulwahab moved to Sweden from Iraq when he was a child, then moved with his family to Britain, where he met his wife Mona. It is believed he became radicalised while living in Luton, just outside of London, and that either hate preacher Abu Hamza or Omar Bakri Muhammad may have been his inspiration.

Ex-Imam of London’s notorious Finsbury Park mosque Abu Hamza is serving a seven year jail sentence in the UK and Omar Bakri is in a Lebanese jail, but their followers in the UK are still openly recruiting converts to fundamentalist jihadism. One such group in Luton may have been the root cause of the Stockholm bomber’s radicalisation. Swedish police are attempting to discover whether the suicide bomber was acting on his own or with accomplices.
