Reykjavik Jazz Festival goes live

The Reykjavik Jazz Festival 2010 went live last night. This is Iceland’s biggest yearly jazz event and beside local jazz musicians there are artists coming to the country from the Nordic countries, France, Austria and the USA.

The festival, as usual, lasts until the end of August; so jazz fans staying in Reykjavik should be able to find some good music in local bars and music venues. The festival is celebrating its 21st consecutive year and for 2010, guests can find local names like the veterans Mezzoforte, and newcomers and winners of the Scandinavian Young Jazz Comets competition, K-Trio and Absolute Nonsense/Reginfirra.
