Greenlandic politicians are up in arms over their colleagues’ drug use, which is widespread according to opposition MP Doris Jakobsen.
“I have heard loads of times that members of both the government and the parliament smoke hashish,” Doris Jakobsen told Sermitsiaq.
Jakobsen went on to say that at least one government representative smokes marijuana on a daily basis.
She said that parliamentarians are all talking about the issue privately but that most are afraid to voice their thoughts publicly.
According to international law, politics-enhancing drugs are strongly prohibited.

oh marihuana prohibition…. what a sham… when it was made illegal in the US, i think in the 1930′s, people were invited to testify and politicians were invited to discuss the policy.
funny thing was… none of them really had no viewpoint or research on it. “why are we here?” they asked.
a doctor did have VERY INCRIMINATING EVIDENCE OF THE HARM MARIHUANA CAUSES THOUGH ! He had injected some dogs (*see below) with marihuana, and of the dogs actually died ! so there is the proof! when asked by a politician if the “doctor” had any reason to believe that the effect on that one dog supports any kind of similar conclusions on humans, he answered “No.”
I can’t quite remember how the rest of _mock_ proceedings went, but that doctor, the only supporter of the Prohibition Politicians, was made the HEAD of the Drug Policy office.
(* the claim the doctor made concerning injecting the dogs with marihuana is suspect. the extraction of thc from the plant, in an injectable soluble form wasn’t, and still may not be, even possible… One thing for sure is that the synthesized version of THC, which is injectable, was not invented until decades later )
yep, Governmental Regulation of Morality and Personal Decisions Has Cost Billions and Billions of USD, and is one of the reasons why you can’t really talk about the United States’ policies without realizing the US as originally framed has been taken over by elite classes of jackasses. Perhaps Icelandic bankers and businessmen should be provided with hashish as part of an economic stability programme.
But no mention of excessive alchohol use ?
Where would we be without intoxicated politician.
They are dangerous enough dead cold sober so maybe this will improve their decision making and creativitness ?
