Iceland won and Norway trails at the bottom with only two points

Iceland beat Macedonia 1 – 0 in Reykjavik by a goal scored by Vegar Pall Gunnarsson who plays in Norway. Some 5,500 people turned out to see Iceland win this World Cup qualifying game at the Laugardalsvollur national stadium.

Iceland suffered a blow in the 26th minute when an injured Brynjar Gunnarsson went off and was replaced by Aron Gunnarsson;  but the TEAM held their 1 – 0 lead.

Holland leads with 9 points, Scotland is number two, Iceland with four points, then Macedonia and finally Norway with only two points.

Iceland still has not played Scotland in Scotland.
