Iceland unveils financial help centre to public

Financial help centreThe Icelandic government has announced the creation of an information centre for the public, media and companies both in Iceland and abroad. The info centre deals with questions and enquiries regarding finance and banking in Iceland.

The information centre is contactable by email and telephone. Its knowledgeable representatives hope to answer many questions instantly, but will address more complicated issues directly to relevant government officials.

The Icelandic government financial information centre can be contacted on +354 545 8950 from anywhere, or on 800 1190 within Iceland. The email address is midstod@mfa.is (or infocentre@mfa.is in English)

Representatives will be available between 08.00 and 22.00 GMT Monday to Friday for the foreseeable future.

The info centre is located at, and run by, the Ministry for Foreign Affairs in Reykjavik.
