Actavis has recently made headlines for the charitable activities of its Bulgarian division.

Before 2008, Actavis Bulgaria had concentrated its charitable activities on the country’s capital, Sofia – constructing a disabled-access ramp at the city’s Alexander Nevsky Cathedral, for example.

In 2008, the generic drugs manufacturer’s charitable activities in Bulgaria have gone national, starting with the construction of a similar disabled ramp at Varna’s Dormition of the Theotokos Cathedral (Uspenie Bogorodichno).

Actavis released details in June of donations to children’s homes in Bulgaria. So far three social care institutions have benefited from donations including medicines, vitamins, food supplements and cosmetic products to the value of roughly BGN 15,000 each.
