Business Factory opens to incubate SMEs

reykjavikA facility called the Business Factory has been established at Reykjavik University to help small businesses get off the ground.

Established by Klak Innovation Centre, a department of the university, the Business Factory offers a course dubbed the Expressway for New Companies. It aims to help entrepreneurs formulate a strategy and follow through to the establishment of a business, in order to get ‘up and running’.

Participants also have the chance to interact and network with other entrepreneurs, sharing experiences and knowledge which, crucially, is a factor in the success of launching a business, according to research from Klak.

The course is being run by Dr. Eythor Ivar Jonsson, an associate professor at the Copenhagen Business School, who is also the managing director of Klak Innovation Center and CEO and chairman of Seed Forum Iceland.
