Danes want Brits to fly cheaply

cheap flights for the UKTravelmarket, a Danish company, has launched a British version of its popular Scandinavian travel search engine, according to reports by Eye for Travel.

The new website, www.travelmarket.co.uk, will offer price comparison technology to travellers based in the UK. According to the company, the website is the best tool on the internet for finding the lowest prices on flights from the UK.

In Scandinavia, the website is the largest independent travel search engine and the company is hoping to replicate its Scandinavian success in the UK. The website currently attracts around half a million hits per month according to chief executive Ole Stouby.

Stouby said, “The price comparison market for cheap flights is very competitive in the UK but in our new website we believe we have a more comprehensive search dynamic which enables us to return cheap flights for any search.”

Unlike other websites, Stouby says Travelmarket includes low cost carriers which is what makes it so appealing. “We are confident that we always find the cheapest flight and that is why we feel we can make such a bold statement about putting money up for grabs to anyone who can prove us wrong. The UK is a very important market for us because we want to offer cheap flights to New York, cheap flights to Australia, cheap flights to Thailand and cheap flights to Paris, in the same way we do for internet users in our native Scandinavia,” he said.

Stouby is so confident that the website is offering up to £2,500 of travel vouchers for travellers who report genuine quotes which are cheaper than those offered like-for-like on the Travelmarket website.

In the future, the company plans to expand across Europe and considers the UK market a springboard to this plan.
