Lexis founder Bill Jones appointed by Loewy

Loewy, the fast growing marketing group, today announces that it has appointed PR industry veteran Bill Jones to the role of Chairman of PR. Jones’ career in PR spans 20 years and highlights include founding and building Lexis into an 80+ people agency with £5 million in fee income. Jones’ role at Loewy will be focused on growth and development of its PR businesses – Mantra, Rainier, Custard, BMA Communications and Lighthouse.

Bill Jones commented: “Loewy prides itself on building a family of creative specialists and the five PR businesses have proven reputations for outstanding work. At the moment it’s a blank canvas and I’m taking the next few weeks to really get under the skin of the five agencies.”

Jones will be providing strategic advice to Loewy’s PR businesses for three days a week and will report to Loewy CEO, Charlie Hoult. Jones founded Lexis in 1992 with business partner Tim Adams. Jones and Adams sold the business in a management buy out in 2002. In addition to his role at Loewy, Jones is also Chairman of Penrose Financial.

Loewy’s PR capabilities cover consumer, corporate, technology, and public sector expertise and has a Top Fifteen agency position in the PR sector based on turnover. Loewy acquired leading corporate consumer agency Mantra PR in July 2007, specialist technology PR consultancy Rainier in October 2006 and consumer PR agency BMA Communications in September 2005.
