Norwegian paedophile linked to assaults in Germany

Police in Norway are investigating possible molestations in Germany by the suspected “Pocket Man” paedophile, reports Aftenposten.no.

The 55-year-old man is suspected of a series of sexual assaults between the 1970s and 2006, and is now in custody with the Norwegian police. Although no assaults were reported after 2006, the suspect allegedly took several business trips to Germany during that time.

The charges brought against the suspect will probably pinpoint him as the worst serial offender in the history of Norway, and police believe that many of his assaults were not even reported. The suspect’s identity has not been revealed.

The suspect owned a car business in Bergen, but reportedly worked for Norwegian child protective services three decades ago.

DNA evidence already confirms his involvement in assaults over a decade ago, and police are investigating all his movements.

The suspect does not fit the typical profile of a sex offender, as he was popular with colleagues, friends and neighbours. He has also been married and has grown-up children.
