Icelandic Artists to Perform at Spot Music Festival

Icelandic Music Export has announced that three Icelandic artists will perform at this year´s Spot Festival in Århus, Denmark on 1st & 2nd June.

Icelandic artists Pétur Ben, Helgi Jónsson and Reykjavik! have confirmed that they will all play at this year´s Spot music festival in Denmark. Around 100 Danish and Nordic artists are also expected to perform at the festival in Århus – Denmark’s second largest city.

The Spot Music Festival has attracted music lovers from around the world ever since its inception in 1995 and continues to promote numerous Scandinavian artists with international ambitions. The Spot Festival will also consist of conferences and seminars to explore the commercial potential of the new music and keep attendees up to date with latest from the Scandinavian music circuit. Around 800 Danish and international representatives from the music business will be present, including record companies, publishers, the media, bookers and concert organisers.

Pétur Ben is scheduled to perform at ‘Musikhuset Lille Sal’ on Friday 1st June at 21:45. Helgi Hrafn Jónsson will perform at the same venue on Friday at 18:00 and Saturday at 21:15. Reykjavik! will perform at ‘Ridehuset’ on Friday at 18:00.

Icelandic Music Export (IMX) is a government-supported body with the aim of promoting Icelandic music to a wider community by organising artist participation at international festivals. IMX also plans to launch an Icelandic music website which will bring together various aspects of the Icelandic music scene under one promotional website. The website will inform visitors about Icelandic bands and on future Icelandic music events around the world.
